The documentation will help you transition from OASIS so you can find
what you're looking for.
To bypass this page (the page you're currently viewing) in the future, simply make sure you include the 's' in https://portal.cmich.edu. You can also Bookmark https://portal.cmich.edu in your web browser. This will allow you to access it directly without first having to visit the quick-start page you're currently viewing. Why the two different URL's? The page you're currently viewing is purposed as an informative, quick-start guide for new users. When you access the Portal directly, you are automatically prompted to enter your Global ID and Password. For new users (with no prior knowledge), this could seem puzzling. As a result, they may be hesitant to enter their personal information. When empowered with prior knowledge, however (in other words this page), new users can be confident that entering their information is a means of accessing a secure site. And, yes, the 's' in 'https' stands for 'secure.'
The Portal is an internal portal or intranet that allows CMU students,
faculty and staff quick access to the type of information that
relates directly to their needs. It is the point of entry to
information and online services at CMU. Whether it is campus events,
news releases, links to favorite websites or student account and billing or
course registration – it is all in the
Portal – and more features and customization
options are being added all the time!
